This Tiny Houseboat Is One Of The Coolest Homes We’ve Ever Seen

Imagine living by the ocean. Crisp, sunny days. Clear, blue water. Warm, yellow sand. Ah, paradise!

This tiny houseboat takes that fantasy a step further. It doesn’t just let you live by the ocean; it lets you live on the ocean.

Harbor Cottage Houseboats in Somerset, Kentucky, designed this gorgeous home. Even though it’s technically only 400 square feet, it contains two bedrooms, two porches, and room for up to six people to sleep.

People love to marvel at tiny homes, which are called “tinies,” according to Harbor Cottage Houseboats co-owner Jimmy Hamilton. He told that when designing the home, he decided to fit in many full-size amenities. Ninety percent of people who think tiny homes are cute prefer not to live in one themselves, and Hamilton wants to change that.

The tour begins with an open kitchen, which is designed around an island. The kitchen also contains a double-door fridge, a full-sized dishwasher, a range-top stove, and a microwave in addition to a washer and dryer. The boat’s owners can also personalize the countertops and cabinets with their own unique flare, such as with stylish shiplap walls.

The master bedroom is fit for a king—literally, because it fits a king-sized bed. The boat also contains a full bed and a twin bed so that guests can stay in the stateroom. Meanwhile, the palatial bathroom comes with a full-sized vanity and a bathtub.

Want to have guests over this summer? The houseboat has two porches. Or take your guests to the 400-square-foot roof deck so that you can look out over the sparkling ocean.

Many people want to live, vacation, or own land in waterfront places in Seattle or the Florida Keys, but the high price tag often keeps them from fulfilling this dream. This houseboat offers all of the benefits of living by the ocean at the comparatively low price of $99,000. Some people live here full-time while others rent it out for vacations.
